The first SECURE Open Call for cascade funding has officially closed on 29 March 2026 e call, launched on 28 January 2026, invited micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (mSMEs) across Europe to apply for support in strengthening their cybersecurity capabilities.
The first Open Call is part of the SECURE project’s mission to enhance the cybersecurity capabilities of European SMEs and support their compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Through this funding opportunity, SMEs were invited to submit proposals for projects aimed at improving cybersecurity practices, addressing compliance gaps, and increasing overall digital resilience in line with CRA.
With a total budget of €5 million, the call offered up to €30,000 per project to support the implementation of practical cybersecurity measures and preparedness for upcoming regulatory CRA requirements.
Following the closure of the call, proposals will now enter the evaluation phase. Submissions will be assessed based on excellence, impact, and implementation feasibility, in line with the published criteria. Selected applicants will be announced after the evaluation process is completed.
