Description
The Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference 2025 (BCC25) provided a platform for exchange on European cooperation and cybersecurity resilience. As part of the conference, NCC-RO – Centrul Național de Coordonare în domeniul Securității Cibernetice organised two dissemination events under the NCC-RO project (GA 101227737), bringing together representatives from the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), the European Cybersecurity Competence Centre (ECCC), and several National Cybersecurity Coordination Centres (NCCs).
Participants included partners from multiple EU initiatives, among them SECURE project partners.
Strengthening cooperation among National Coordination Centres
The first session, opened by Ms Ana Maria Bușoniu, Director General of NCC-RO, focused on best practices and cooperation among European NCCs. Insights from the Community Building & Follow-up (WG1 Workshop – Luxembourg) were shared, highlighting practical approaches to community development, coordination and sustained collaboration at European level.
The discussion underlined the importance of structured cooperation between NCCs to support capacity building, knowledge exchange and alignment across Member States.
CRA implementation and EU project collaboration
The second event, opened by Mr Dragoș-Cristian Vlad, President of the Authority for the Digitalisation of Romania, together with Ms Ana Maria Bușoniu, focused on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and the growing ecosystem of EU-funded projects supporting its implementation.
In addition to SECURE, the session featured CRACY – CRA Made Easy (coordinated by Leaders in Security – LSEC), as well as further CRA-related initiatives such as CONFIRMATE, DNS4EU, EU-INSPIRE, CRA-AI, ACSOC, SIEMBIOT, 5G-TACTIC, INTERSOC, ECYBRIDGE and SIEMmetry.
SECURE and CRACY: complementary support for SMEs
The SECURE project collaborates closely with other EU initiatives supporting SMEs in preparing for the Cyber Resilience Act. One such complementary initiative is CRACY – CRA Made Easy.
CRACY focuses on simplifying CRA requirements, particularly by:
- providing open-source software solutions to support compliance,
- translating regulatory obligations into practical guidance,
- and enabling SMEs to adopt cybersecurity measures with reduced complexity and cost.
While CRACY supports understanding and technical enablement through accessible tools, SECURE focuses on operational implementation, capacity building and the integration of cybersecurity practices throughout the SME product lifecycle. The first Open Call for funding of SMEs’ CRA projects will start in January 2026.
SECURE consortium General Assembly in Bucharest
In parallel with BCC25, the SECURE – Strengthening EU SMEs Cyber Resilience consortium held its General Assembly in Bucharest, hosted by NCC-RO.
The meeting brought together project partners from across Europe to review progress achieved so far, align on upcoming activities, and strengthen collaboration within the consortium.
Several new activities for SMEs were in preparation, focusing on practical support for improving cybersecurity and preparing for CRA compliance: The first SECURE Open Call for SME funding is planned for 19th of January 2026, offering SMEs the opportunity to co-finance cybersecurity improvements across Europe.
